PREVIEW – Bahrain Grand Prix

Features

Round two of the 2016 season takes place under floodlights at the Bahrain International Circuit. The circuit in Bahrain is a mix of high speed long straights and fast corners these factors provide some brilliant over taking opportunities. The circuit was built in the desert as the first venue for F1 in the Middle East. The race in recent years has caused controversy off the track because of the government crackdown on human rights.

But once again and with most of the next few races favour Mercedes this may allow them to begin building there  defence of their world title. but Lewis Hamilton will be hoping he can stop his team-mate taking a fifth win in a row and his second this season. Ferrari will be doing their best to halt the charge

What happened in 2015?

Lewis Hamilton took control of the race from the start opening the gap to his team-mate Nico Rosberg. However Rosberg ran too deep into turn one late in the race which allowed Raikkonen to claim second. Red Bull just managed to finish the race before a engine blow out in sixth.

It wasn’t Red Bull in the wars McLaren only managed to get one car to the start and didn’t score any points.
