Canadian GP – Hamilton bounces back taking control in Montreal

Lewis Hamilton took total control to take his fourth victory of the 2015 season. The world champion managed to keep his Mercedes team-mate behind him as well Williams’s Valtteri Bottas.

Sebastian Vettel recovered from a difficult weekend to finish in fifth behind his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. Hamilton win puts his disappointment of losing out to Rosberg in Monaco after a strategy error cost him victory last time in Monaco.

Hamilton told the world on the podium “I love Montreal.” Bottas’s podium means he is the first non Mercedes or Ferrari driver to take third place.

Hamilton added “This place is incredible. There are lots of British flags, Canadian flags, Grenada flags and Barbados flags. I won my first race here in 2007 and to be back up here feels very historic for me.”

Raikkonen could have been third but he gave this to Bottas when he spun at the hairpin. However he tried to fight back following his pit stop but failed to hold his fellow country man off. Vettel however managed to come back after a difficult qualifying yesterday.

It was yet another difficult day for both McLaren’s after both Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso were forced to retire. However he saw humour tweeting “Jenson Button… Is this a bit better..? Well, probably depends upon how you look at it.” With a picture of a upside down time sheet.

Romain Grosjean managed to gain a point following a penalty for causing the incident was applied.

Daniil Kyvat was ninth for Red Bull behind the Louts of Pastor Maldonado in tenth place. Giving Maldonado his first points of 2015. Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg who is preparing for his Le Mans 24 Hours debut next weekend with eighth place for Force India.
