Michael Schumacher’s manager rebuffs comments by Montezemolo

The former Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo says the news about the seven time world champion Michael Schumacher isn’t good. The German suffered serious head injuries in a skiing accident in the French alps over Christmas 2013.

Di Montezemolo told the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport “I’m always checking up on him, and unfortunately the news isn’t good.”

“He was a great driver and we shared a great personal and professional relationship, we also had the pleasure of having our children at similar times. Unfortunately a fall while skiing, an accident, has broken him.”

The manager of Schumacher who is recovering at home following nine months in hospital, Sabine Kelm told BBC News that she wouldn’t comment on the matter. Montezemolo added “He was the most successful driver with Ferrari, he had a single serious accident in his career in 1999 and that was our fault, not his.”

Kelm has rebuffed many comments from Schumacher’s friends and colleague over the past two years. Her last comments on his condition where in December 2014 “We need a long time. It’s going to be a long time and a hard fight. He is making progress appropriate to the severity of the situation

The German won seven titles five of them at Ferrari while competing in the sport for a total of nineteen seasons between 1991-2012 winning ninety one Grands Prix.
