F1 75 Launch – teams unveil liveries
F1 held its first launch event on Tuesday at the O2 in London, the event saw all ten teams unveil their 2025 in front of fans in the arena, on TV and online. The event saw all the teams show off their new cars but there appeared to be little change in terms of the design of the cars
McLaren has continued with the papaya colour but have incorporated it with anthracite and a hint of teal in honour of the team’s tradition of carrying over livery design templates when winning a championship. Ferrari is another to stick with the traditional dark red, but had the biggest reception as Lewis Hamilton appeared in red in public for the first time.
The seven-time champion backed up the impression given in recent weeks saying the word which would define the last month “invigorated” adding “I feel so full and life and so full of energy because everything is new. Just focused on what’s up ahead. I’m so proud to be part of the team, so new and exciting for me.”
Red Bull produced one of the most innovative shows of the evening as the team showed a truck interacting with its fans on its way to the event. But there was no change in design with the blue, red and yellow design as Liam Lawson made his first appearance with the team.
Mercedes stuck with black and silver on the W16 and delivered their own unique entrance with a pit crew on stage to simulate a stop. Team principal Toto Wolff was full of praise for the event as he was joined on stage by new team leader George Russell and Italian rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
Aston Martin took a James Bond-inspired entry with the musician Tems singing the car onto stage, with Fernando Alonso confidently declared to the crowd that they had seen the most beautiful car of the evening. Alpine stuck with blue and pink though there has been a tweak to the car, with a blue body and pink highlights of sponsors.
Haas were another team to stick with the familiar black, white and red livery as they were welcomed by country singer Kane Brown. They presented their new lineup of Ollie Bearman, as he goes into his first full season alongside Esteban Ocon.
Racing Bulls brought something different to The O2 with both their reveal and new all-white with hints of blue and Red Bull’s logo on. Comedian and social media star Munya Chawawa delivered a trademark skit to introduce the unveiling, before joining Yuki Tsunoda and rookie Isack Hadjar on stage.
Williams unveiled a dark blue car following an emotive show beginning with the voice of late founder Sir Frank Williams and building to a fan-focused crescendo uniting team principal James Vowles with drivers Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon on stage with the car.
Their new livery offers a large nod to new title sponsor Atlassian, with a transition from traditional Williams navy at the front to Atlassian’s signature blue on the engine cover. Subtle white and blue detailing pays homage to past liveries.
Sauber were the first to unveil dramatically, which continued with a bold lime green and black livery. The team has a new line up with Nico Hulkenberg returning alongside rookie Gabriel Bortoleto.
