BARCELONA TEST: Grosjean fastest as Alonso crashes out

Romain Grosjean was fastest on the final day of pre season test in Barcelona however, the days event was overshadowed by a crash involving Fernando Alonso who crashed on the exit of Turn Three at speeds of up to 150 miles per hour.

Nico Rosberg once again under lined Mercedes pace going second fastest by .254 of a second to Grosjean who set a 1:24.067 using the super soft tyres. But Rosberg belived the difference is due to the difference between the tyres. Sebastian Vettel was almost a two seconds down as he was running high fuel runs we believe.

Lotus say they are encouraged by their progress with the trackside operations director Alan Permane saying there drivers have been compiling the car. Grosjean added “Everything is going in the right direction. But it is very early in the year to make predictions.”

Daniil Kvyat put Red Bull into third fastest from the Sauber of Felipe Nasr and Valtteri Bottas. While Carlos Sainz Jr, had a harmless spin into the gravel at turn three.
