Audi don’t seem quite sure about Formula One, Massa Backs Refueling and Hamiltion has signed a new contract. It’s all here in this week’s edition of Reporters.

Audi – Will they or won’t they?

At the start of the week German car Manufacturer Audi stated “that it has no plans to enter Formula One” Although Speculation does continue to rise about them entering the sport. Hopes were high, though, after Ferdinand Piech Chairman of Volkswagen departed as it was believed he was the main deterrent to stopping Audi entering F1.

But are Audi themselves 100% sure what they want to do? According to the German Newspaper Handelsblatt, Audi’s Chief Executive Rupert Stadler had ruled out an entry into Formula One after speculation of a partnership with former champions Red Bull.

However, last week Stadler told Auto Express that Formula One was an option saying “in life you must keep things open” in response to a question about the sport.

Massa Backs Refuelling

Driver for Williams, Felipe Massa has backed proposals for the 2017 return of refuelling. He believes that “it will lead to more exciting sprint racing”. Plans emerged last week, after a strategy group meeting agreed plans, making cars faster and the races more dramatic.

The Proposals for the return of refuelling during races have come as a surprise after they were removed in 2009 on the grounds of “safety and cost”

Hamiltion signs till 2018

Lewis Hamilton has signed a new three year deal with Mercedes for 3 more seasons. The deal is said to be worth £26,000,000 a year. – This hasn’t been confirmed. But he is the richest sportsperson with a net worth of £88,000,000.

In a statement read by Hamilton he stated that ““Mercedes is my home and I couldn’t be happier to be staying here for another three years.”

The announcement ended all rumors that he would be moving to Ferrari. Hamilton will remain alongside current team mate Nico Rosberg, who also has a multi-year contract extension.
