Manor’s last attempt of finding a rescue deal has ended with the team withdrawing their entry to the 2017 season. The team’s parent company Just Racing Services, fell into administration in January and ceased trading last month.
There have been hopes that the owners of the Manor WEC team which is run by the teams former Team Principal Grahame Lowdon, could have brought the Formula One entry. The WEC team is backed by Chinese investors and it appears to fallen through.
Autosport says it has learned that Manor’s chief Stephen Fitzpatrick has written to the FIA to notify it officially that his team was withdrawing from the F1 championship.
There had been reports that the promoter of the United States Grand Prix, Tavo Hellmud was in talks to buy the team. But these talks failed to reach a deal.
This means any buyer who buys the teams assets would need to apply as a new team. Meaning, it would only have two weeks before the freight deadline for Australia.
