Amnesty warning over Bahrain<\/strong><\/p>\n

A report has been release by Amnesty International ahead of this weekend\u2019s Bahrain Grand Prix warning that human rights abuses in the country continue despite reassurance from the government.<\/p>\n

Every year as we examined earlier this week, when the race comes round the focus returns to the political unrest in the country. The report details cases of beatings, deprived of sleep and adequate food, burning with cigarettes, sexually assaults, subjected to electric shocks and burnings with an iron.<\/p>\n

The report accuses the government of conducting \u201cchilling\u201d crackdown on dissent, with activists and government critics rounded up and jailed, including some detained for posting comments on Twitter or \u2013 in one case \u2013 for reading a poem at a religious festival.<\/p>\n

Breakthrough of the year<\/strong><\/p>\n

Daniel Ricciardo has won the Laureus breakthrough award after having a sunning season in 2014. The 25-year old claimed three grand prix victories plus five podium finishes.<\/p>\n

He was the only non-Mercedes driver to win a race and ended the year third in the overall driver’s championship. He told ABC Radio \u201c2014 is a year I’ll remember for a long time – it was definitely a breakthrough in my mind as well. Standing on the top step of the podium a few times was icing on the cake.\u201d<\/p>\n

The winner was chosen by the Laureus World Sports Academy, a panel made up of 50 sporting greats, including four Australians.<\/p>\n

No more team orders<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene has ruled out boosting Ferrari’s title hopes with the help of \u201cteam orders.\u201d<\/p>\n

The team is currently the only team other than Mercedes to win a race this season with Sebastian Vettel who also has double the number of points than team-mate Kimi R\u00e4ikk\u00f6nen. Previously, the team has used team-orders to boost its place in the championship.<\/p>\n

Arrivabene told La Gazzetta dello Sport that both drivers will receive equal status within the team. Saying \u201cWhen I arrived at Maranello I saw the old rules of engagement, and I made some changes in the presence of both drivers and their race engineers – so that everybody is informed.\u201d<\/p>\n

End of the road<\/strong><\/p>\n

Codemasters who design the F1 game yearly has says it is no longer planning to create anymore editions for ageing consoles. Instead it want to \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0o concentrate on bringing new F1 titles to the “next-gen” PS4 and Xbox One consoles.<\/p>\n

Codemasters contract with FOM is up for renewal soon sa*d F1 2015’s game designer Steven Embling. He said \u201cWe have the license for one more year. So we can release a title after F1 2015 and then I believe the intention is to renew the contract after that.\u201d<\/p>\n

This years game will be released on 12th<\/sup>\u00a0June for PS4, Xbox One and PC, and is expected to be the publisher’s first title for the new consoles.<\/p>\n

Could be world champion \u2013 Tost<\/strong><\/p>\n

Toro Rosso boss Franz Tost has said that Max Verstappen is on the road to becoming world champion.<\/p>\n

Last weekend Verstappen had another impressive race despite making a few errors but he was forced to retire due to a rear axle failure. Speaking to Sky Sports Germany Tost said \u201cIf he continues like this and has the right team and the right environment, then he can definitely win the world championship. I think you cannot really look at his actual age.\u201d<\/p>\n
