The Circuit first held a race in the late 1960\u2019s, but like many circuits has seen many changes with the current layout dating back 2014. The Osterreichring was built to replace the outdated Zeltweg Airfield not far away from the current circuit.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Bull Ring has stunning backdrops around the shortest lap of the season with the 2.6 miles set against the Styrian Mountains. The circuit\u2019s original name translates into English as the Austrian Circuit. The race is known for its high speed and fast flowing nature and has seen many teams take victory over the decades. The circuit sits in a natural bowl and is one of the fastest on the calendar<\/p>\n<p>The 1970 race was dominated by Jochen Rindit, however, it was his Ferrari team-mate Jacky Ickx who took the victory. But Rindit\u2019s life would be cut short days later, after a crash in practice for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, becoming the sport&#8217;s first, and to the only posthumous champion (to date).<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, the circuit has not delivered much success for Red Bull or Toro Rosso as the Mercedes have dominated the race. Including a Mercedes powered 1-2-3-4 in 2014, with the works team and both Williams. Through the kink and the track appears to be damper than at One but good thought two dropping to second. Goes to third for turn three taking a bit of kerb on exit.<\/p>\n<p>Bit of oversteer through four but goes through OK on the short run to five which he does perfectly and six as well. Good through seven going to the inside before darting back across for eight running to the line and a 01:07.922.<\/p>\n<p>The conditions were perfect for Hamilton who always goes well in these mix
