Hamilton no reason in dip for me<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lewis Hamilton says there is no obvious reason why team-mate Nico Rosberg has been able to turn the championship around in the last three races following the summer break.<\/p>\n

It has been a difficult start to the second half of the world champion\u2019s season which began with \u00a0power unit penalties in Spa and a bad start at Monza, but in Singapore he had set-up issues and struggled to match Rosberg\u2019s pace all weekend. These issues have allowed Rosberg back to the of the championship.<\/p>\n

When asked by Motorsport.com when he thought the momentum would go back in his favour. \u201cI have no idea. We don\u2019t know if it will, or if when it does, when it will be. But we still have six races, so I\u2019ve just got to keep pushing and hope for the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really have an answer for it you know, because every year is different. It\u2019s just the way it goes. Some weekends he does great, some weekends I do great.\u201d He says Rosberg did an exceptional job in Singapore and \u00a0admitted that he knew from the first lap in Singapore that he had little chance of beating Rosberg.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce you get into Turn 1 in third, the likelihood of winning when you\u2019re in third… The chances of that are very, very low. I was thinking of trying to improve my position.\u201d Hamilton added he had a brake problem after the safety car and says there was no chance of passing Daniel Ricciardo because he would have taken it<\/p>\n

Hamilton is complacent \u2013 Stewart <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sir Jackie Stewart says he has concerns that lewis Hamilton is getting complacent in his hopes of taking a fourth world championship. Hamilton was overtaken by Nico Rosberg after a difficult weekend in Singapore.<\/p>\n

Hamilton was nineteen points ahead when Rosberg resurgence started at the Belgian Grand Prix in a fight which has gone on through-out the season between the two. Speaking to Sky Sports Sir Jackie said \u201cMaybe you can bottom out. That can happen through consistent success because when you have consistent success everything can seem so easy.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuddenly things can go less well – you overdrive, you are not on the ball, or you live a life that distracts you in one way or another.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sir Jackie is britain\u2019s only other three-time F1 champion, said it was the fear that always drove him on in his own pursuit of glory.<\/p>\n

Malaysia tyre selections <\/strong><\/p>\n

Pirelli have announced the drivers tyre allocation for next weekends Malaysian Grand Prix. The tyre manufacturer had announced that they would be bringing there harder tyres the hard, medium and soft compounds<\/p>\n

Mercedes title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have opted for slightly different allocations, as have Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen. All four drives have chose seven soft tyres while Rosberg and Vettel have chosen four mediums and two hards tyres with Hamilton and Raikkonen choosing to spilt three each between the medium and hard.<\/p>\n

Felipe Massa, Nico Hulkenberg, Sergio Perez, Fernando Alonso, Felipe Nasr, Marcus Ericsson and Estenban Gutierrez have chosen seven soft, three hard and softs. Both Manors of Pascal Wehrlein and Esteban Ocon have six softs, four mediums and three hards. While Romain Grosjean has gone for four mediums and two hards.<\/p>\n

FIA investigating marshal restart<\/strong><\/p>\n

The FIA has launched an investigation in why a marshal was on track following the restart of Sunday’s Singapore GP.<\/p>\n

Carlos Sainz and Nico Hulkenberg’s collision at the start of the race resulted in a Safety Car period but as leader Nico Rosberg was given the green light to start racing again, a marshal was sprinting to the side of the circuit.<\/p>\n

A spokesman for the FIA told Autosport that procedures were not “properly executed” by the clerk of the course and team of officials and that they were taking the matter “very seriously”.<\/p>\n

A marshal ran across the circuit as the cars restarted the race.<\/p>\n

Why Bottas\u2019s belt came undone <\/strong><\/p>\n

Williams says the reason why Valtteri Bottas seatbelt came undone during the Singapore Grand Prix is a mystery. After an early puncher Bottas said in the middle of the race his seatbelt had come undone on lap 33, and pitted at the end of that lap to have them fastened again.<\/p>\n

Williams performance chief Rob Smedley told Autosport \u201cWe did them up in the pits, but to understand why they’ve come undone, it’s really quite a worry in itself that has happened while they’re driving at these sort of speeds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cValtteri had another issue some years back, I can’t remember exactly when. I don’t think it was a similar issue, but it was something to do with the seatbelt. We’ve just got to go away, do the correct analysis with due diligence, and the main thing is we get it fixed for [the next race in] Malaysia.\u201d<\/p>\n

Smedley said they have gone the whole season without the issue and it is worrying for the team. Bottas\u2019s race went from bad to worse with him retiring after dumping his clutch inadvertently in a long stop.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
