Rosberg was 0.3 seconds faster than Hamilton who currently has more than a two race victories lead in the championship. Hamilton was fractionally faster than the Red Bull.<\/p>\n
McLaren looked more competitive with Fernando Alonso evelenth and Jenson Button Fifteenth.<\/p>\n
Red Bull has been targeting Singapore for a strong result Because their car will be able to hide the power deficit to the front runners. They were manging to hold of Ferrari in third. Marina Bay isn\u2019t a power circuit and this means the Renault and Honda will be stronger.<\/p>\n
Rosberg knows that he needs to mount a serious challenge against Hamilton for the title after he was forced to retire at Monza. His retirement allowed his team-mate Hamilton to extend his lead to 28 points over Rosberg. Also the German will be on his final power unit from this weekend.<\/p>\n
The mid field were very close with Williams\u2019s Valtteri Bottas 0.6 seconds ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. While Max Verstappen was just 0.1 of a second down with Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg, Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz and Lotus’s Pastor Maldonado completed the top 10.<\/p>\n
