Back to the past? As new rules are suggested\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Refuelling may return to F1 in 2017 as the sport looks to introduce faster, louder and more aggressive cars. The FIA today released a statement saying that the aim is to make cars faster to improve \u201cthe show.\u201d<\/p>\n

They will be hoping to do this by making changes to aerodynamic, making cars lighter and introducing wider tyres. Ferrari was behind the changes after Marko Mattiacci last year called for a revolution in F1 which was backed by current boss Maurizio Arrivabene.<\/p>\n

Also teams will be given free choice to use any of the dry tyres through the weekends from next season. The statement by the F1 Commission said \u201cAll parties agreed to work together with an intention to firm up these proposals and submit them to the approval of the F1 Commission and the World Motor Sport Council of the FIA as soon as possible for implementation.\u201d<\/p>\n

But plans to reintroduce another engine allocation were rejected by Mercedes.<\/p>\n

Lotus not for sale<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lotus has ruled out any sale to the French engine manufacturer Renault as the company continues to look at their future in the sport. Renault is considering whether to increase their involvement by buying a team or whether they should leave altogether.<\/p>\n

There former team Louts this year switched to Mercedes power but Lotus CEO Matthew Carter made it clear that his owners were not interested at a business conference \u201cI know that Renault are evaluating their role within F1 at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think they are from a fairly high level trying to decide whether they just make engines, whether they pull out of the sport altogether or whether they look at a works team. \u201c<\/p>\n

Merhi to say with Manor <\/strong><\/p>\n

Manor sporting director Graeme Lowdon says that Roberto Merhi is expected to remain with the team for next week\u2019s Monaco Grand Prix. Merhi signed a short term deal for the \u2018opening races\u2019.<\/p>\n

Lowdon said he is happy with Manor\u2019s current line-up of Merhi and Britain\u2019s Will Stevens who has a contract for the whole season to \u00a0remain the same for next weekend’s race in Monaco. \u201cI don’t foresee any change at all,” Lowdon told AUTOSPORT.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have got a lot of work to do as a team to get the gaps closed. In the meantime the drivers have obviously got to perform and do their job. I don’t expect any changes.\u201d He added.<\/p>\n

Knot tie today \u2013 Horner <\/strong><\/p>\n

Red Bull team Principal Christian Horner, has married his girlfriend Geri Halliwell better known by her stage name Ginger Spice at a service in Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire.<\/p>\n

Friends, family and well-wishers gathered in Woburn. The 42-year old wore a white lace dress designed by Phillipa Lepley, a couture wedding dress designer based in Chelsea.<\/p>\n

The couple got engaged last year. Halliwell arrived at the wedding in \u00a0traditional horse and carriage with beautiful white horses, fit for a princess. The wedding was attended by Former world champion \u00a0Sir Jackie Stewart, \u00a0Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard who drove for Red Bull until 2008.<\/p>\n

Mosley orgy row<\/strong><\/p>\n

Former FIA Boss Max Mosley has settled a case with Google over images of him at a \u2018Nazi orgy\u2019. Mosley has long fought to take the pictures down after they were published by the now defunct News of the World in 2008.<\/p>\n

Mosley won the case but later launched legal action against Google in a bid to have the images stripped from the internet.<\/p>\n

His lawyer Tanja Irion said \u201cThe dispute is settled, to the satisfaction of both sides.” The agreement was confidential and her client did not want to \u201cjeopardise it\u201d by commenting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
