Caterham headquarters to be sold<\/strong><\/p>\n

The headquarters of the former F1 Caterham has gone up for auction for offers over \u00a35.5 million. The team collapse last October with the loss of 200 jobs after hitting financial problems.<\/p>\n

The 28-acre site includes 150,000 sq ft (13,900 sq m) of buildings, offices and a racing car testing facility. The agent overseeing the sale for BNP Paribas Jonjo Lyles told BBC News that the facility \u201clends itself to a number of different uses\u201d and would be of interest to many people.,<\/p>\n

The team was operated by 1 Malaysia Racing Team which the administrator Finbarr O’Connell said up to \u00a320m was owed to external suppliers.<\/p>\n

No pre-contract with Ferrari \u2013 Bottas <\/strong><\/p>\n

Valtteri Bottas has denied rumours that he has signed a pre-contract with Ferrari. The 25-year old told reporters that he was amused by some of the speculation about his Formula One future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw some and heard plenty of stories and it’s sometimes quite funny to hear those because in the end you know what’s the case and what’s not\u201d he said. There have reports in both the Finnish and Italian media that he has an agreement with Ferrari, who have 2007 champion Kimi Raikkonen out of contract at the end of this season, for 2017 if not 2016.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Mercedes boss who also is a shareholder of Williams Toto Wolff said Bottas was he was leaving everything to his management. \u201cI am sure they have some kind of plan for my career, for years ahead\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Ocon backed by Mercedes <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mercedes say they will back the career of highly-rated youngster Esteban Ocon. Ocon has signed an option with the German manufacturer which may see him race for one of their motorsport teams in the future.<\/p>\n

The 18-year old is currently the reigning European Formula 3 champion and will make his GP3 debut at this weekend\u2019s Spanish Grand Prix. He will also be the manufactures DTM team test and reserve driver. He has signed also \u201ccould see him become a fully-fledged Mercedes-Benz driver in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Toto Wolff told Sky Sports \u201cEsteban is a mega-talented young guy and one of the stars of the future. I’m pleased we’ve found a good path to continue his relationship with Mercedes-Benz.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pressure on <\/strong><\/p>\n

Pressure is being ramped up by Formula One boss Berine Ecclestone after the 2016 calendar was leaked. The calendar started to appear on the internet.<\/p>\n

If the leaked calendar was confirmed the 2016 season would give the sport a record breaking twenty one races in an even shorter season. But, teams Want a maximum of 20 Grands Prix per year, so the obvious conclusion is that at least one race on the leaked calendar will be dropped.<\/p>\n

But Ecclestone continues to war organizers in Italy that there race must pay more to hold the race.<\/p>\n
