A court in Germany has heard that the seven times world champion Michael Schumacher cannot walk almost three years after a skiing accident. Lawyers for the Schumacher family have launched legal action after the German magazine Bunte claimed last Christmas that the seven-time world champion could walk again.<\/p>\n
But Fleix Damm said that Schumacher, 47, “cannot walk” more than two and a half years after the accident. The magazine said a source had said that Schumacher could manage some steps with the help of therapists and could raise an arm.<\/p>\n
At the time, Schumacher’s agent, Sabine Kehm, released a statement denying the story, saying: “Unfortunately we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true.<\/p>\n
“Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people.”<\/p>\n
The seven time champion suffered head injuries after skiing in the French alps in December 2014. Schumacher was placed into a medically-induced coma before being transferred to his home on the shores of Lake Geneva in September 2014.<\/p>\n
He is believed to be undergoing rehab and recovery at home with health care professionals. But in February former Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo, said: “I have news and unfortunately it is not good.”<\/p>\n
