Round eighteen and the penultimate round of the season takes us to the circuit known to fans drivers and teams as Interlagos. The circuit location gave its name to the part of the city but was renamed after former F1 driver Jos\u00e9 Carlos Pace who was killed in a plane crash near the city.<\/p>\n

The circuit which is located on a hill was built after the original plan to build houses on before the 1929 global financial crisis and was built between 1938-1940. The meaning of Interlagos is between two lakes. The first F1 race was a non-championship event in 1972 before local man Emerson Fittipaldi won the first championship one a year later<\/p>\n

The current shorter circuit dates back to the 1990\u2019s but it is currently being updated and rebuilt to current standards.<\/p>\n
