Red Bull parts with Renault <\/strong><\/p>\n

Autosport says it understands that Red Bull will not use Renault engines next season. Red Bull\u2019s relationship with Renault has become fractious over the past two years because of a string of reliability and performance problems.<\/p>\n

Red Bull\u2019s contract with Renault was due to end of 2016. It\u2019s understood that Red Bull issued a document requesting a termination of the partnership that will be accepted by Renault. It comes after the team used their seventh engine of the season last weekend.<\/p>\n

The only realistic options for the team to be competitive are Mercedes or Ferrari. Also its understood that it has ruled out being an engine supplier to customer teams next years. This may have may have implications for the teams second team Toro Rosso.<\/p>\n

Renault maybe about to agree the purchase of the Lotus team or it could leave the sport altogether.<\/p>\n

Mercedes no Red Bull deal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Autosport also says that the board of Mercedes have rejected a plan supply Red Bull. It comes after they broke the news that Red Bull will not use Renault engines next season.<\/p>\n

The team approached the German manufacturer after the problems and their relationship with Renault broke down over the past eighteen months. Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche has decided to bring the tentative discussions to an end following his visit to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix at the weekend.<\/p>\n

The thinking behind Mercedes rejecting suppling Renault is the sixty year wait to return to the top of the sport. Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton expressed doubts telling the magazine \u201cIf we’re serious about winning the world championship, probably not.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added \u201cRed Bull is a great team, but it’s like giving Ferrari our engines. We don’t really need it. We are good where we are.\u201d<\/p>\n

Team boss Toto Wolff says the matter was up in the air as there were pros and cons to the prospect. Wolff said: \u201cSupplying one of your championship contenders with big resources, it needs to be carefully judged and balanced as to whether we would want to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ferrari to supply Red Bull<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ferrari look set to supply Red Bull from next season following the rejection from Mercedes after their fall out with Renault. As we have reported above Red Bull has terminated their contract early with Renault with them hoping to join Mercedes.<\/p>\n

Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene has repeatedly said that they would supply both Red Bull and sister team Toro Rosso. Ferrari supplied when Red Bull for a season in 2006 before they switched to Renault and Toro Rosso between 2007 and 2013.<\/p>\n

Arrivabene told The Telegraph \u201cI don’t see any kind of problem to give our engine to any other team or be scared of the competition before they start. This is not the right spirit of competition or what Ferrari represents. We fight with everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manor in Mercedes talks <\/strong><\/p>\n

Manor are in discussions with Mercedes about switching from Ferrari to Mercedes power from next season. The team is currently using a one year old Ferrari unit.<\/p>\n

If Renault completes a buyback of Lotus Mercedes have the capacity to supply Manor after they turned down Red Bull. Toto Wolff told Autosport that Manor could be a possibility saying \u201cOn the engine, we had some discussions and they’re interested in exploring the competitive environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wolff added \u201cThey have a Ferrari engine today but it’s a young team and a new team and they need to meet with all engine suppliers and make the best deal for yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manor sources say that there have been talks between the team and Mercedes. However the FIA would need to get approval from the FIA for four teams to have its engine this year as the regulations state a single manufacturer can only supply a maximum of three teams.<\/p>\n

Wolff said this was because \u201cwe don’t know what is happening with Lotus and Renault and this is why you have to keep all options open.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hearts ripped out without Monza \u2013 Vettel <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sebastian Vettel\u00a0 says that drivers hearts will be \u201cripped out\u201d if monza is dropped from the calendar for what he called \u201cS***Y reasons.\u201d The circuit has one more year left on its contract.<\/p>\n

The circuit which is called F1\u2019s \u2018cathedral of speed\u2019 are yet to agree a contract from 2017. Berine Ecclestone hopes that a new deal will be reached for a Monza. Vettel took his first podium for the team at their home race at the weekend.<\/p>\n

He told Sky Sports \u201cIf we take this away from the calendar for any s****y money reasons I think you are basically ripping our hearts out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adding \u201cYou stand on the grid, you look to the left, you look to the right, people are just happy to be part of it and it makes our day. So, simple as that. It’s incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Monza has held the race on and off for over ninety years.<\/p>\n
