Round sixteen takes us to Texas for the United States Grand Prix. The Circuit of The Americas is a mix of some of the world’s best corners such as Silverstone’s Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel sequence, Hockenheim’s arena bends, and a replica of Istanbul’s Turn Eight. Built in early 2010’s it was Americas purpose built Grand Prix.
Austin has in recent years become the home of Formula One in America and has built a European style event with music, entertainment and this year’s race ties in with Halloween festivals in the city.
The circuit should play to the hands of Mercedes. Plus, if results go Lewis Hamilton’s way he could be crowned world champion and be the first British driver to successful defend his title.

Classics
2012 – The first race is held in Texas with Lewis Hamilton taking back-to-back victories (all but five years apart) in the United States. His last win for McLaren before leaving the team where he started his career.
2005 – INDY GATE Three teams started the race following problems with tyres that were unsafe to go through the final corner. This was a problem because under that season’s regulations tyre changes were only permitted if it rained. Read more from Tuesday
